Systems Engineering Intern

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Manager of Systems Engineering, the Systems Engineering Intern will gain valuable experience mainly focused on cloud infrastructure engineering, management and administration, IT Security, and on-premises infrastructure. The internship is a 10-week program providing hands-on experience working with experienced team members. Come learn more about Systems Engineering in an innovative technology environment. 

Essential Functions

The intern candidate will have an opportunity to learn about the following technologies:

  • Server administration and maintenance 
  • Cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure) 
  • Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) 
  • A basic understanding of IT security and the thought process behind it 
  • Backup and recovery technologies 
  • Basic networking technologies 

Qualifications

  • Freshman or higher college student in good standing  
  • Must be a Doyon Shareholder

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Pursuing a degree or prior work experience within the following:  MIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, Security 
  • 3.0 overall GPA  
  • Valid Driver’s license, ready access to a registered vehicle and must be able to provide proof of state required insurance on registered vehicle

Working Environment

The majority of work for this role is performed in a home office and interacts with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities.  Telecommuters are expected to have sufficient home office space that appears neat, organized, and professional when on video meetings.
