Job Summary

As a Pre-Sales Solution Architect for Microsoft 365 and Security, you will spearhead client engagements by leading discovery sessions, documenting technical and functional requirements, and delivering compelling demonstrations for our Managed Services offerings and Microsoft 365 solutions. Your role involves researching and presenting third-party solutions, creating impactful presentations, and preparing detailed responses for RFPs, RFIs, and Statements of Work, including accurate pricing and Work Breakdown Structures. You will address client inquiries, act as a technical liaison, and stay updated on market trends and new products.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Managed Services Business Unit, which spans two entities. This collaboration will require you to help create synergies across both sales organizations, recognizing that while the high-level job tasks are similar, the execution and processes differ between locations. You will be expected to learn the unique processes of each entity and contribute to the ongoing efforts to standardize and streamline operations in the future.

Essential Functions

  • Lead pre-sales discovery and document client technical and functional requirements. 
  • Conduct compelling demonstrations, presenting, and articulating the features and benefits of our Managed Services offerings and Microsoft 365 Stack. 
  • Research, learn, and present third-party solutions as required to meet client requirements.  
  • Create and deliver PowerPoint presentations to support sales and pre-sales activities to prospects, clients, and external marketing events such as conventions and seminars. 
  • Prepare written responses for RFPs, RFIs, proof of concepts, and Statements of Work.  
  • Learn the Microsoft pricing model for the Microsoft 365 Stack and provide pricing for RFP, RFIs, and Statements of Work.  
  • Prepare Work Break Structure (WBS) for delivering the defined scope with estimated hours per task to assist with pricing. 
  • Respond to client inquiries on product offerings and technical specifications. 
  • Act as a technical resource and liaison between the business development team, the proposal and capture team, and the client. 
  • Keep abreast of all new products, market trends, future directions, and competitors. 
  • Consistently learn and certify on the related applications within the scope of the role. 
  • Assist with pre-sales solutioning and strategic planning (roadmaps) for existing clients. 
  • Lead the internal transition from pre-sales to the delivery team ensuring the proposed solution and scope are understood. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of combined technical consulting, system administration, or network administration experience in an enterprise environment using cloud technology 
  • Strong experience in virtualization technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare and migrating on-premises and to the cloud. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience. 
  • Preferably experience working in Managed Services environments.  
  • Deep technical knowledge in implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, and other core Microsoft 365 and Azure components. 
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft 365 and Azure licensing model. 
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft 365 Services especially those related to security such as Defender for Cloud, Identity, Endpoint, Office, and the Microsoft Security portals.  
  • Strong knowledge of Intune, and Endpoint manager. 
  • Extensive knowledge of current Windows Server versions, current client operating systems, cloud technologies, network protocols, routing, switching, and firewalls. Comprehensive understanding of anti-virus and backup solutions. 
  • Experience working on structured IT projects including assessing requirements and scope, documenting design, identifying tasks and estimates, coordinating with the project manager(s) to plan and execute, and project close-out activities. 
  • Experience designing and implementing Azure-based infrastructure solutions.  
  • Deep understanding of Entra ID and Entra Identity solutions including password-less and MFA authentication.  
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license, reliable personal transportation, and auto insurance. 
  • Applicants are subject to government security investigations and must meet eligibility requirements related to the clearance process.

Working Environment

The majority of work for this role is performed in a home office and interacts with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. Telecommuters are expected to have sufficient home office space that appears neat, organized, and professional when in video meetings. Travel is required and varies around 25%.
