This summer internship is for Doyon Shareholders.

Are you interested in learning about Federal sales for technology solutions in the business world? Under the supervision of the President and General Manager for Arctic IT Government Solutions, the Federal Sales Intern will gain valuable experience learning the federal procurement and proposal process for federal contracting and how to identify, research, and build a capture plan required to win government IT contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow and assist where possible with the federal sales & capture management process to include
    • How to identify a prospect
    • What research to perform to understand their needs and our fit
    • What intelligence to gather to understand the client more, their pain points, their buying habits, etc.
    • Understanding the federal solicitation process
    • Understanding how contracts are negotiated and awarded
    • Overview of the federal delivery process, risk/issues, funding, and follow-on contracts
  • Mini projects
    • Research specific opportunity at specific agency, identify key stakeholders
    • Read and report your understanding of a specific solicitation
    • Write a section of a solicitation response given model content and tailor it to a specific need
    • Write a final report for the summer detailing what you learned, the challenges of doing the job, and how you can use what you learned in your life moving forward

Qualifications

  • Freshman or higher college student in good standing
  • Must be a Doyon Shareholder

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing a career or prior work experience within the following fields: MIS, Business, or Informational Technology
  • Experience with system-based reporting (Power BI, etc.) a strong plus
  • 3.0 overall GPA
  • Valid Driver’s license, ready access to a registered vehicle and must be able to provide proof of state required insurance on registered vehicle

Working Environment

The majority of work for this role is performed in a home office and interacts with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. Telecommuters are expected to have sufficient home office space that appears neat, organized, and professional when on video meetings.
