The MPO selected Arctic IT to implement its cloud-based financial system on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management in the Government Community Cloud. The agency chose the solution based on its project accounting capabilities and confidence in the long-term support of the platform.

The team followed a defined implementation path using each stage as a checkpoint to confirm progress and requirements. The implementation was completed in a single rollout, and included modules supporting every area of the agency’s ERP operations:

Accurate data and reporting are critical to the MPO’s day-to-day operations, making data migration a priority throughout the implementation. Arctic IT developed custom reports to meet the agency’s specific requirements, including

• Interest Projection Report
• Vendor Aging by Financial Dimension
• Customer Receipt Form (for in-person AR payments including customer balance information)
• State Invoice Voucher Report
• Single Audit Report, or Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA)
• State, Local, and Other Financial Assistance Report (SOFA)
• Federal Financial Report (SF 425)

Custom invoicing automations were configured to accelerate reporting and reduce manual work. What used to take a month to compile invoices for annual reports now takes minutes to render. The automations also reduce the risk of human error.

Additional configurations included a vendor collaboration portal and an integration between ADP and Dynamics 365 Finance. Through the portal, vendors can securely submit and manage information themselves, allowing MPO staff to spend less time on administrative tasks and more time supporting other initiatives. The payroll integration automatically transfers payroll entries from ADP into Finance, improving data accuracy and reducing manual accounting errors.
